Clay Workshop at Chitkara International School Chandigarh

Claying Thoughts organized a 3-Day Clay Modelling workshop at Chitkara International School (CIS), Chandigarh. We organized handbuilding pottery session for Grade 5 students, parent-child workshop for toddlers, clay fun for nursery kids, and a demo workshop for teachers and fine art students. More than 300 students participated in the event and explored the magic of clay.

Students learnt the process of making pots and pen holders with hands using coil building technique. Children made variety of shapes and sizes and enjoyed experimenting with clay too.
The Parent-child workshop for toddler group was aimed at introducing natural clay as a medium of learning and fun. The objective was to make parents aware of the benefits of working with clay and how it helps in overall development of child’s brain and fine motor skills. All clay activities were woven around this objective. Last but not the least – the Demo session that engaged more than 200 students and art teachers who learnt various clay formations, techniques and surface decoration techniques. It was an absolutely amazing experience for me as i felt like a magician on stage doing magic with clay and the children watching me were screaming, clapping, jumping with excitement and amazement :)

It was an absolutely wonderful experience visiting CIS. Thankyou Chitakara for inviting us to "Beautiful City - Chandigarh". We were overwhelmed with your gracious hospitality and warmth.

Happy Claying :)
